ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is looking to recruit an Accountant to work as part of our Financial team to serve our Germany-based entity, we are looking for the person to start with us immediately.

This role will be reporting directly to our CFO and in close cooperation with the local CAO
RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Accountant, you will:

  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including checking and posting invoices; fixed assets accounting.
  • Make accounting postings into local (German) accounting system (Datev).
  • Reconcile payments with corresponding invoices and financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaison with banks
  • Process employee expenses, reconcile reports with credit cards, and credit control.
  • Prepare the payment runs for approval and payment, manage them through the designated system or method, ensuring adherence to payment terms and deadlines.
  • Month-end closing work, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts with a focus on bank accounts and accounts payable reconciliation.
  • Ensure monthly reports and annual financial statements adhere to local (German) GAAP.
  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including data completeness and transaction accuracy.
  • Assist in payroll calculations and compliance with external tax advisors
  • Assist in preparing statutory tax reports, including VAT declarations and compliance with external tax advisors.
  • Provide Audit support.
  • Participate in cross-functional finance-relevant projects, close cooperation with other departments (HR, IT)

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Several (3+) years of professional experience in Accounting, preferably in the IT Industry, Tech or a fast-growing company
    • Proficient in German Commercial Code (HGB) and in related commercial legislation
    • Strong organisational skills to manage priorities and collaborate efficiently in a fast-paced environment
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork
    • Quick adaptation to new tools, technologies, or systems introduced in the workplace (Atlassian products, Candis, Circula, Lucanet and other similar tools)
    • Ability to prioritise tasks, adjust plans based on changing priorities, and understand task dependencies
    • Results-oriented approach to collaborative work
    • Good knowledge of Accounting systems Datev (Quickbooks, Xero, Adaptive or comparable are a plus)
    • MS Excel proficiency
    • German, English languages
