Gunzilla Games is seeking a Lead Technical Artist who will be responsible for research, technical aesthetic fidelity, innovation, and providing coordination and leadership to our Technical Artists working on our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, available as Early Access on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S and PC now.
As a Lead Technical Artist, you will:
- Pioneer, design and develop state of the art visuals and procedural systems that complement the game design
- Ensure visual quality throughout the game
- Collaborate with Tech Art Director, senior leadership to ensure to put down and maintain the pipelines
- Coordinate with programmers as when required to steam line processes
- Define, review, test, and integrate new tools to enable fluid Art pipelines
- Be a part of and drive the whole Technical Art team on Research and development and always try to adapt to the latest technology
- Mentor, guide, and lead Tech Artists providing examples and arranging training as necessary
- Actively partner with studio leadership in recruiting and career development efforts
- 5+ years of experience in the video game industry
- Experience in leading teams of artists
- Knowledge of and experience with Environment Art, Hard Surface Modeling
- Knowledge of industry-relevant 2D and 3D art software especially Blender and Maya
- Experience in programming and/or relevant scripting. Python is mandatory. C++ is a plus
- Strong review and communication skills on art and scripting side
- Understanding of cutting-edge process, tools, and industry techniques
- Experience in the technical and behind-the-scene operation in 3D graphics engines and their process
- Deep Understanding of Perforce repository system. Jenkins / DevOps knowledge is a plus
