ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games are looking to recruit a Lead Level Designer to join us leading our Level designers to work on our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, available as Early Access on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S and PC now.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Lead Level Designer, you will:

  • Work alongside the Director team to plan, detail, and supervise the work within the Level Design team.
  • Maintain and improve existing and future level design metrics
  • Lead the cooperation with other teams to make sure levels created contribute to and enhance the gameplay and game narrative.
  • Participate in gameplay conception for the level design, for both PvP and PvE maps.
  • Create and implement game levels spearheading Level Design as a whole with a hands on leadership approach
  • Maintain clear design and technical documents using Confluence, JIRA, Miro and Microsoft Office tools alongside other disciplines.
  • Contribute to the creation and constant improvement of pipelines and processes.
  • Support and mentor the level design team, maintaining the quality bar of 3d blockouts, level scripting and all level design adjacent tasks
  • Support team members in their career advancement and development of interpersonal skills

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years’ experience in game development with at least 2+ years in a Lead Level Designer position on a AAA production.
  • Proven success in creating compelling and innovative levels ideally in BR, Multiplayer or FPS titles
  • Experience in leading and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • Experience building levels in a professional 3d package (Max, Maya, Blender)
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts, including experience in creating detailed project documentation.
  • Passion for Level Design and the ability to effectively share knowledge with other team members.
  • Proficiency in using Unreal Engine 5 and blueprints.

PLUSES

  • Experience with third-person shooter mechanics.
  • Knowledge of current gaming trends and player behaviors.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
